Mari Tomter x DNNK – Dabadee

110.00

From the Embrace Florid S/S 23 collaboration collection: The Wallpaper design created by Mari Tomter and studio DNNK.

Mari Tomter is a painter from Norway. She creates colorful and playful paintings depicting florals and faces. DNNK approached Mari because the way how she painted the floral painting made Studio DNNK curious in how this could look on a bigger scale, and to create a modern version of an 18th century floral wallpaper.

Mari Tomter painted each flower individually, so that there would not be too much repetition in in one roll of wallpaper. Then Studio DNNK scanned in each flower and created the layout of the wallpaper. The immense flowers that are now combined create almost a Matise like painting on your wall. The slight color difference in the background gives an extra dimension to the wallpaper when the rolls will be put next to each other.
