You might be seduced by the appearance of Between Curtains, but do not let that happen. The aesthetic experiment is about the creation of a veil around the individual in today’s society. A veil that is created and constructed by the individual itself.

The closed-off facades captured during a photographic research in Mariahoeve are a physical example of this phenomenon. Here closed curtains “protect” the inside of exsposure. Where the representation of the ‘self’ on social media could be seen as a metaphorical example, do these filtered images represent real life or fictional life?

Between Curtains, is the translation of this observation. Where in today’s society, we are seduced by the aesthetics rather than to confront and dive deeper. The installation was accompanied with a movie. The movie uses the curtains as actors to show the observation of the veil from different perspectives in society
